Random junkyard finds

Can you imagine doing a super bright led conversion on those map lights?

I might try a drop in LED bulb.

OHC digital clock wiring:

Connector that plugs into the clock module:

I think we need to all go through @PetroleumJunkie412 parts bunker...

What else you hiding in there?

Been telling yall..... I've been quietly parting out rbvs on the side and keeping the rare bits. Plus, the high volume boneyard near home gives me access to ALL KINDS of fun stuff.

Like my actual pallet of superchargers. 😜

Yuuuuuuuup. Ordered the bulbs already.

So fun fact, the OHC is the same between a headliner truck and a steel roof truck.

At first I was like "what the heck" with the huge gap. How could Ford do this? Like 10 years ago (and 3 computers ago) I had found a steel roof truck on ebay with an OHC, that is what started all this. I didn't remember it having the gap. Anyway I dug thru my archives found my pic and sure enough... they hid it with the visor.

Pretty rare, I have never seen one in real life. Pics online of less than half a dozen.
I have never seen a console like that before. The front part looks like the Bronco II console, but never saw one like that with a sliding opening.

I need to get more photos of these.

I have seen one of those consoles in person one time. It was up in Wellsboro with RangerKip. It was abandoned at a garage.

From what I've been able to figure out they were pretty specific to the 83-85 Rangers.

I need to get pics of the factory rear seat delete that I yanked out of an 85... Actually made the back useful. And a rear area tonneau that came with it.

‘85?

Supercab didn’t start until 1986 model year.

Hey guys.
So i'm the lucky sucker who bought that center console for my '83 Ranger. The wiring diagrams are helpful, but does anyone know where I can get the needed parts/harnesses to instal?

:worthless:

The base part number is shown in the parts diagram below. You will have to play with the prefex (like E3TZ would be a starting point) and see if you can dig something up. Like E3TZ-10923, but there will be more after the end.

They go thru how Ford part numbers work HERE

Keep in mind you paid a premium because they were not at all common... so harnesses will not be growing on trees either.

@Ranger_XL might be able to help too:

@Jim Oaks

Not quite as rare (I have 1.5 of them) is the overhead maplight/clock. They make a different bezel for a steel roof truck (the ceiling contour is different, I have seen one in a truck on ebay) and I would like to sneak up on one of those someday too.

Just a comment on junk yards: I spent a good part of a day in a U-Pull-It yard in central NC. Big lot but only had maybe 5 Rangers, mostly 1st generation. But if you needed a part for an S10 you had a good 10 or 15 to choose from.

I don't know if that is a true indicator of how long the Ranger lasts compared to an S10 or not? I owned an S10 some years ago and it had two engine rebuilds in 100k miles. It was a 92 4cyl, std trans.....maybe those were just bad engines.
