so i trailored the new BII home today! Pretty nice overall thought i was gonna drive it but it has ABSOLUTELY NO CLUTCH!?! You can pull the pedal up to the dashboard and push it down to the floor...i popped the hood....no clutch master cylinder. got a batt. for it and it cranks right up...everything works but the pass. wiper, radio, headlights (haha), and of course the tranny haha, but its got new paint and tires and wheels so i got a hell of a deal!

QUESTION: how do you determine if you need an actual clutch or just a slave cylinder deal???

once you get a master cyl on it the best way to check is putting it in gear and hold the clutch to the floor, if it creeps forward the slave is bad. easiest way to check the clutch is put it in 2nd and sidestep the clutch, if the clutch is good it will stall instantly, if it isent it will creep forward or hesistate before it stalls. for your own sake PLEASE replace clutch, master and slave all at once. you will be very pissed if you put a clutch in and the slave goes 2 months later.

sidestep?

As said, replace it all at once. I didn't replace my slave when I put a new clutch on, and boy do I regret it. I couldn't drive #2 for about a year. It was so easy too... It just twists off the tranny after you remove the line...
