guys!!!!!!!! i had one hell of an idea, take a 4.0L ranger and turn it into a rally based truck!!! hahahaha:headbang:. anyways getting all caught up in the x games and all of those octane academy commercials i decided id brain storm an idea that i know has never beeen seen before.

so here is the build i got goin on in my head...my 03 4.0L 5 speed ranger. if i threw on a supercharger and built up the engine, i think that would be sufficiant enough for power. not quite sure what to do about the tranny. now with the suspension i kinda need some help...i was thinkin about using my 8.8 with discs from an explorer with 4.10 gears and hook it up with a 4 link and coilovers. for the front i dont have a clue of what to do, maybe modify a dixon bros a-arm setup? then again not too sure...or would the stock a-arms with poly bushings and coilovers be a better way to go? well, any input would be awesome! but of course i would throw in a roll cage just for safety sake before i start (if i even start) to build this project.

any ideas or any help would be awesome!!! hahahaha but then again this is all just a brain storming idea...so dont get your hopes up if i dont carry through with this build.

If you want to rally race then you don't want to raise the center of gravity and the DBR kit will do that, and 4links have a ton of body roll, I would keep leafs in the back and just swap coilovers into the front, leaving it basically stock.

I'm pretty sure there is a couple of guys rallying their Rangers on this site. I just saw a video of one racing in the last few days, and I'm pretty sure it was on this site.

A Dixon kit will raise is by a few inches but its also a long travel kit that will make it wider and stabler.

I would also leave leafs in the back though, maybe get some softer ones with more travel and get a stabalizer for it to reduce body roll in the back end.

Forgot to mention...yeah I know the dixon bros would raise center of gravity...and yes I wanna lower the center of gravity. That's why I asked about modifying the dixon bros setup...but nevermind that hahaha so should I just use leaves in the back and add an sway bar with some piggyback air shocks and then put some coilovers up front? I'm thinkin yes! So how's about adding some anti wrap bars to the rear axle instead of a 4 link set up?
