Radius arm extensions

Was reading through some build threads came across some stone crusher extensions.i haven't been able to find them but I'm curious as to how hard it would be to make some?

it's easy to cut the stock ones and add some tubing to extend them... that's what I did.

stonecrusher did make some that just screwed on and extended them. If you want to fab something, why make extensions when you can just cut the stock ones and extend them?

I was more curious about it then any thing else just looked like you could almost piece together a bolt in deal aside from the mounts. I really don't have the means to fab anything up. No welder or bender but could easily have someone weld up some braces and the tubing. Obviously these wouldn't be as strong as other options out there but I don't plan to get to rough with my b2 just yet.

yeah, I can't even find the actual stonecrusher website anymore. I looked at it not to long ago. They had their steering and extensions both listed....now I don't see them. They were actually pretty cool. Just screwed on the stock arm

I thought it was pretty cool and simple. Haven't done a lot of research yet but I think it our be done somewhat on the cheap just have to get good joints.

The closer you get to "bolt on" the more expensive the parts are.

James Duff has a whole line of parts geared for the Ranger that allow usage of Bronco type suspension components but it all costs coin.

Doing on the cheap will mean some fab will have to occur at some point.

Personally I don't like the idea of a screw on extension for the radius arms. They take some serious forces and need to be one continuous piece. Would probably be cheaper (and much stronger) to just extend a pair for your self with some round or sqaure tubing, some plate and some heims/johnny joints/donut bushings.

I guess my next question is with just a 4 inch lift do I really need these?

I have about 8" of lift running 37's a few years ago with the stock length, wheeled the hell out of it. Dustin (disciplerocks) ran the stonecrusher extensions, it wasn't long and he bent one of them at the joint. If you want extended arms, I recommend getting a spare pair from the junkyard and having your buddy cut and weld them properly...

I read through that build and he didn't bend the extension he bent his arm rom what I read had it been welded like it was suppose to be it may not have bent. He unscrewed the extension and screwed back on another arm.

Those extensions are asking for trouble no matter what. You do have to weld the extensions to the arm, and then weld bracing over the top of them and the arm for it to be sturdy. Might as well just modify the arms themselves using solid lengths of tubing instead.

Using them isn't wrong, it just ain't the best route

I understand its not the strongest or best route but I'm only after a little more flex I don't beat on it to hard it's my daily. Down the road it will get either fabbed arms or buy some but that's down the road. The biggest problem is I don't have access to a welder or other things that would be needed to make bad ass arms.
