ok, this is the second time i had to type this up so bear with me. i broke the radius arm stud on the passenger side top when i was installing my lift coils, so i ordered the studs from ford. well since i had to tear the axle apart anyways i might as well extend my radius arms
i had to buy some more tools like a quality slide hammer axle pulling kit, but i got my axleshafts pulled tonight
my problem however are the bolts that hold the radius arms on the bottom of the axle housing, the nuts are welded on the inside of the housing and the bolt protruding from the top of it show no threads anymore, completely rusted smooth, there is no budging these, i had a 3/4'' breaker bar on them with a 6ft cheater bar and there was no budging these, in fact i shattered an impact socket on them tonight, i lost a good friend when that socket cracked into 4 different pieces, i broke loose all kinds of stuff with that socket, i have had it since i was 10, my grandpa had it when he was a tool and die maker back in the day..
so what are my options here? do i torch them off? how do i go about it? i know i can weld a grade 8 nut there and be fine, but i cant get the torch inside the axle tube to get at the nut...any tips out there?
