What timing! I'm gearing up to swap the 3.0 to 5.0, maybe next spring, and today my radiator decided to crack one of the plastic tanks.

So my thought is to go ahead and get the radiator I intend to use with the swap and maybe run on the cold side for a while. Options are a 4.0 radiator or the one at James Duff.

My favorite option is the 4.0 - it's $103 at Amazon and would bolt easily I believe. Has anyone done this with the 5.0 swap and what's the clearance like?

I like the look of the radiator at James Duff and tucking it in under the core support. Has anyone done this and kept the AC? It looks to me like you'd have to put the AC condenser behind the radiator (between the radiator and the engine). Is this right, and if so would this then require a pusher fan?

Thanks in advance for any info!

The James Duff brass/copper radiator is a nicely made piece and it fit's perfectly. The AC condenser goes in front of the radiator allowing a puller fan.

The aluminum version is a bit better as far as cooling.

However, the cooling capacity of either, is marginal for even a stock SBF.

I've had to add a second radiator, actually a NASCAR oil cooler underneath the James Duff unit.

Read some of the threads involving radiator options and make a decision based on your final performance goals.

Bigger is better! Consider cutting the header panel to gain as much room as possible.
