radiator core support

ok well it has been a long while since my last post(the old website format) but once again i need ur help. im in the process of rebuilding my 88 ranger. i have torn the whole front off of the vehicle planing on replacing with new parts.

my question is does anyone know where to get a new core support? every place ive looked they are out or discontinued.

or will an 89 work in the 88 with 88 fenders and grill?

Have you tried LMC?

An 89 won't work. They are wider to accommodate the boxier front of the 2nd gen trucks. Core support is one of the things that has to get changed to do a front end swap going either way.

LMC should still sell it. My catalog is getting a lil old, but it lists the core support for an 85-88 Ranger/Bronco II as part number 50-9901 for $99.95.

i dont think they are any wider, but they are definitely different. they are set up to hold a totally different set of lights and grille.

They may not be any wider. I thought they were a bit wider though, because the 1st gen comes back in a bit at the front. The second gen is more square.

lmc says they are out and ebay only has them for an 89 and up so im kinda at a loss here ive got the old one off but it is so rusted and dented i dont want to put it back on

any more info would be helpful
