Race or Chase?

That's the question.

Is there anyone here that either races or chases in the desert? If so, what sanctioning body (BITD, SCORE, etc) and what class?

Also, if you fit in to either catagory, post up a pic of your ride or a link to you or your teams site.

Let's see who's out there.

i think he is more interested than anything.

We race and chase. At first we raced a yamaha rhino in BITD under the pro class and some of the Whiplash sieres here in AZ.

we chase with my diesel when needed and it also is the rescue vehicle

And now i am buildin my 84 ranger into a full race truck. I will be racing some BITD (when i can afford it) under the 1450/7 open class and Whiplash.

Oh buddy that Rhino is sick. You should post some more of it, I think it would still fit pretty good in the prerunner forum since it's all long travel and custom fabricated.

When I finish my aircraft fab course I hope I'll have enough money to build a decent truck and race up in Kamloops. Hopefully by then they have some kind of long distance/semi-long distance race going on. I also wanted to try out some RallyCross and buy an old VW or something and just beat it for fun.

Building a race truck in Ohio is a pretty costly dream. If the cost didn't break you, the long haul out and back would. Especially to do something you've never experienced first hand.

I would like to go out and see a race first hand though.

My purpose of this topic was to see how many people we actually have around here involved in desert racing.

jim if you make it out here hopefully ill have the ranger done by then and id be more than happy to give you a ride in her at the price of a sticker lol. but seriously the offer is out there for ya. hell if its even a whiplash race i might eve let ya be my co-pilot lol

this last pic is of our first win. we had a broken clutch,broken LR axle, RR tire goin flat(by the time we got off the podium it was flat), dead batt, ran way too hot (220-230) for 150 miles, and had no power due tot he clutch bein stuck open insead of expanding back and forth like it should (CVT drive system) lol. it was awesome
