I vote for the diesel, but like somebody already said ..... I like diesels. or you could find a 351 or a 400 with a compressor head.

How big is your propane converted to air tank? With any automotive engine you could run 6 or 8 (i think real estate would be the limiting factor, not power) and fill that tank up in just a couple minutes

it's 1000 gallons.the compressor's pretty big,with the engine running at 1200rpm or so it fills up it about 10 minutes.

the smallblock with a compressor head would be perfect,but unfortunately i don't have one hanging around.i hate to strip down the van because it's in near perfect condition,but without a windshield it's not doing me any good.so,i may as well get some use out of it.the bimmer is already considered parts,but i'd like to turn it's engine into cash.

i usually only need to fire up the compressor once or twice a day,depending on what i'm doing.i've got enough reserve air to paint two or three cars,but if i'm using the d.a. i have to top it up every now and then.the tank is 14' long and 3' in diameter.

The Bimmer 6 would be sweet though.

I'd be combing eBay looking for a windshield, personally. RHD grey-market vehicles are worth the extra effort, IMAO.

you're right,the rhd rigs are worth money.the japanese make it hard to keep older vehicles on the road,and they must be kept immaculately maintained.so those that make it over here are in amazing shape,and with very low miles.

Gwaii given your previous track record there is only one direction this can go - 460. Honestly, its inevitable. Little hard on the gas bill though.


Ford 300 was a great idea if you have one around though.
