Hey this is my first post but trust me there will be a ton to come as I know very little about rangers. I do not own a ranger yet but will be purchasing a 2001 or newer with 4.0 soon. I want to put an exhaust on it but want to keep it as quiet as possible. I use to have a 4.3 s10 with a short mothers exhaust and that thing was so damn loud I hated it. I plan on doing just about every bolt on performance part to my truck if that makes a difference on what type of exhaust I should get.

I have answered enough of these today. I will say that unless you are getting a S/C or twin turbos there are no good bolt on performance parts, all they are is a waste of money.

I will let Michael handle the rest of this.

well a 4.0 has decent power already compared to my big bad 2.9, just little up grades are intake, headers, exhaust, just basic stuff i gess a 'chip' might help
