im thinking of getting a parts truck and thinking about swapping trannys and gears. whats better a higher crawl ratio say 30 or a lower crawl ratio say 22?:icon_confused:
any input it great thanks!

The higher the number, the better.

If you're looking to rock crawl, numbers of at least 60:1 (stick) or 40:1 (auto) or better would be what you'd want. Though the only way to get such numbers is with an aftermarket transfercase (Atlas II, etc.) or a doubler unit.

With a stock driveline configuration (manual trans), you can get it up to around 47:1 using 5.13 axle gears and a Mitsubishi or M5OD (non-4.0L version), which can still work for some mild-moderate rock crawling if you're good at feathering a clutch.

thanks and yet you got one of my problems solved agian
