were the drain plug on my tranny? wat fluid does it take? the truck is a 89 ranger 4x4,5 speed,2.9

If it's an FM146 it will be in the middle of the pan and takes 80-90 gear oil, if it's an M5OD its on the drivers side near the rear and it takes Mercon ATF.

Get under it and look, I just told you how to identify it.

i got it, my post was delayed. i got the fm146. do you have any tips on how to fill it?

I liked to fill mine by pulling the shifter out, It takes 2.5 quarts, I liked to fill it a little extra in mine since Mitsus don't have the best bearings.

how hard is that shifter to yank out?

Many parts stores sell inexpensive hand pumps that fit the bill well.

It's 4 torx bolts. You can fill it using the side fill hole in the side (it has a 15/16 head I think), but doing it without a pump is a pain, hence why I prefer doing it through the shifter which allows me to overfill as well.

Use a long vinyl tube wit a funnel in it and fill it from the engine compartment. Just throw a pan under it to catch any spills

well my drain plug is striped from, it seems like the guy did some service and stripped it. the torx on the shifter are all stripped.. so i cant get it off. im skrewed on putting fluid in this damn thing.....

Do you mean the fill plug is stripped? The head or the threads? The fill plug head on my FM146 was rounded off, we welded a larger nut to it, worked great.
