never had to deal with anything t-case related before, wrenchin on a 99 3.0 5speed, the t-case is a bw1354, recently started hearing a noise kind of liek a bearing grinding. but after reading on here im guessing im hearing the chain inside the case? so my question is it worth trying ot disassemble and replace the chain, or will the t case off the 92 4.0 automatic i have resting in pieces in the back lot bolt right up? i know the transmission out of the 4.0 wont bolt to the 3.0 and vice versa but will there be any difference on the t case?

it's been along time since I've had my 98 and 99, but if I remember correctly the front driveshaft flange on the BW1354 in your 92 is a lot different then that of the 98 up style, you may be able to swap parts from the 92 to the fix your 99 case, but in the end your probably better off just getting a different 98 up T case or rebuild your's
