Might have been asked before but i was curious if the expo 5.0 will bolt to like a 79 5 speed tranny that had the carbed 302? Thnx

Yes, it will. All 289/302's had the same bellhousing pattern from 1965 to 2001. BUT the flywheel on the 79 won't work with an Explorer motor, Ford changed the flywheel imbalance factor sometime in 81-82. 79 is a 28 oz/in. All 302/5.0's after 81 are 50 oz/in. And if the SROD 4 speed from that 79 is toast, do not get rid of the bellhousing, it will also work with a Tremec 5 speed.
