Whats up, first post on here. just a simple question. Ive read and heard of alot of people running taurus 2 speed e fans on here. It wont kill me to try. What year of taurus can fit? Am i looking for a single big fan like a 16" or a dual fan cause i believe the 96-99 has a dual fan set up and the earlier models run a single fan. Thanks. This is for an 03 4.0L

what's the intended purpose?

A stock engine doesn't need it.

If you're just doing it to do it, grab one and see. FWIW, the one I have on my FS junk just about fills the radiator top to bottom, and isn't nearly as wide. I would guess (without measuring) any of the early 90's taurus fans would work though.

make sure you use hefty relays though.

Just looking at doing some upgrades shortly, a tune, headers, cat back exhaust, stock intake mod, under drive pulleys and an e fan. Ive ran E fans before on some built cars and even my 01 F150. I know there is a lot of argument about the gains of such things but I myself can say i gained a very noticeable amount on my F150 5.4 with the Troyer E fans and BBK pulleys. Thanks. Ill hit up a salvage yard tomorrow and peep around at the different sizes. I just dont know which ones flow more cfm. Someone was saying they flow around 4500 on high and 2200 on low or something.

use the 2 speed taurus fan. i have one on my 1991 s10 blazer and it cools the 4.3 just fine on the low speed during the hot southen california summers. just go to the junkyard and look at the back of the taurus fans for 3 wires. it fit nicely after trimming the shroud. you will be fine using a 20 amp relay for the low setting but will need a 30-40 amp for the high setting. i plan on doing the same to my wife's 2001 ranger once i return from my current deployment in iraq. oh yea, the low speed works fine for every day driving but have a switch to enable you to switch to the high speed. i have used the high speed occasionally during offroading.

Let us know how well it cools and fits. I'm going to have to do something else myself. I have a Shucks 16" e-fan now and it does not keep me cool on long climbs.
