Questions on mods

They sell You a MAF for this mod You dummmy. Do your homework or sit at the corner with a cone on your head...:thefinger:
And this mod is wothy off only if you install 1.7:1 ratio rockers.

Hey Einstein, don't you know you won't get any more air into the engine even if you used a sewer pipe????? To get any more air you have to totally change the intakes, increase displacement, or go to forced induction, period!!!

GO back to being a grease monkey!!!!

ok so what about like the Volant kit that has a whole complete airbox thats closed...no open filter? oh and if i buy the larger tube for the TB to airbox, can i adjust the MAF curve from my Diablo Predator?? i know it has the option to adjust it

nothing personal but b4 you start messing w/ stuff (i.e. tuning) you better get a recal tool and go to the nearest tuning center or dyno and do it right or youll have major problems down the road.

I concur. It would be a good idea to keep all the factory bits so you can always go back to reliable, proven equipment if things don't quite work out right.

Also, if you're going to start messing with custom tuning, be sure to save all the factory programming to your PC. Most tuning shops/companies have the ability to send you tunes via email.

This is my old FAIL air setup.. After getting knocked I switched back and can notice a difference.. Although the truck wont sounds as meatier I can tell (or at least in my head) that my truck seems quicker.. You probably have the setup I had listed below.. After switching back to stock setup I can tell a diff... :icon_thumby:

you can pull the silencer on the stock box if you want it to sound a little louder

I agree. I almost threw out my old box air system when I got my ricer cone and I'm glad I didn't. One mistake I did make was GIVING my original steering wheel from a 1972 ford ranchero to a guy at Kragen in the parking lot after purchasing an aftermarket "racing" one.. What an idiot I was but I blame it on my age. (18 at the time) :dunno:

Where is this silencer you speak of ? I would be interested although I am older (25) I could care less on sounding cool but its an easy solution I would be interested in checking it out..

pull the lid off the box. pull the filter. look down, you'll see it on the headlight side.

You don't have to lie. It's OK. Everybody wants to sound cool. :o)

ok so my best bet is just to go back to stock airbox setup?? i have the same setup as what mixwell has in the pic except i have the larger spectre filter thats about twice the size of his...ive also heard about ppl cutting holes in the bottom or side(away from engine) of their stock airbox to help with airflow??
