i know it seems like a dumb question but would getting used 19-lb injectors from a mustang be a good idea?

I'd imagine they'd be WAY too big, especially with a stock engine and the non-adaptive nature of the speed density setup on 2.9's

Yup. The stock injectors can already flow more than the engine needs. On stock SD/MAP electronics, I suspect that it couldn't ever maintain a half way decent idle.

19lbs on a MAF computer isn't even a great idea. It works, but it's just way too rich at idle (at least that's my experience with using them). Even then I had to tweak the MAF signal a little. And I would never consider this on a stock engine, I have a cam and other goodies. You'd be stuffing more fuel into an engine that doesn't have more demand for air. The computer wouldn't know any better, it's calibrated for 14lbs.
