Questions about 302 Swap

I am the owner of a 1998 B4000 4.0 5 speed 4x4 with the torsion bar suspension. Is it possible to swap a 5.0 into this truck and keep it a manual transmission car? If it is possible does anyone know of a shop or even a person with in 200 miles of Charlotte North Carolina that would do this swap. I would really like a V8 in a small truck package which seems to be impossible to buy new these days and still get a manual transmission, I figure this would be just as good. I appreciate any input.

I think it's possible. I think the best option for transmissions is the T-5. I dunno much about the small block swap.

depends on the engine that you get and what bell housing is on it. i went with a 99 mountaineer engine(5.0 with the aode trans) i coulda used a t5 trans or even mustang trans(as long as i found a bell housing that would bolt to the trans and still bolt to the engine. i know my engine didnt have a removable bell housing, so it was way easier to just use the aode. plus the wiring didnt have to change much.
