What trany could fit in my Ranger 89? i´m looking for a easy change whitout big modifications.

Im thinking use the same A4LD but i would like to know if a A4LD from a Ranger 95 could fit on my 89

i think those had different electronics in 95... A4LDs aint my favorite transmission.

Almost always try to ge tthe same year A4LD. I keep reading on here abou tthe internals being different. You could swap the harness in as well but thats a pain. I recommend manual anyways, the A4Ld is rather poopy.

I hate an automatic trany but is what ai bought xD so i will try to fix mine or change it for a rebuild one, i running whit 3 speeds ahaha

Pffft, you don't need more than 3 speeds. Are you trying to be some kinda damn speed racer with your 45+ mph speeds?! Ever'body knows man can't survive those kinda forces

Ahaha im training for a F1 pilot so i need more speed! <joke> i have no first, second and overdrive speeds, that means my truck is a shi*t but i still love it because is a great truck and i will get a rebuild kit. I hope this can help a bit.

But what i need to swap? I mean i must change my ecu? what about the wiring harness?

Im new in this as you can see but i would like to learn all about this trucks, i realy love mine

Any post whit pictures about this swap?

hmm, any 4cyl ranger trans made before 2001 would work, i think they stoped using the FM146 trans in 1988 i think.. the FM146 aint too bad but M5OD is a better unit.

besides the trans its self, you'll need the pedal assembly, the driveshaft, master cylinder, mabey the crossmember, flywheel and clutch assembly. as for the computer, i think there was a way to trick it into being in neutral or something. im sure someone could give more details.

that means i need get a new A4LD but i wont use the same model, i mean get a mod 90+ trany, the question to me is what year can fit in my bangr
