hey i was wondering what tranny i had in my 84 v6 2.8

i think i need a new tranny (automatic) cause it wont shift till i hit 60 km and then again at 110km

i think it is the c-3 (has 13 bolts on the pan)
and i have been looking in the wreckers for one but apparently are impossible to find. so i was wondering if there was anything that i could swap in without troubles?

have it rebuilt, its worth keeping

any you find in a 'yard will be the same age, and probably in worse condition

so i have the c-5?
but i thought the c-5 only had 11 bolts on the tranny pan????
rebuilding it is expencive....
is there anything i can swap in like an old mustang tranny or anything?

11 bolts is a C3. Both were used in the 83-84 range, although I believe the C3 went to 2wd's and the C5 was only on 4wd apps.

then it has an image of the c-4/c-5 and if you count the bolts on the bottom veiw there is only 11???
i could just be looking at it weird????

No, sounds like a pretty straight forward identification of your trans as a C3.
