i am wanting to convert auto hubs to manual, as everyone does. I have oem manual hubs but no washer and nuts. I got them for cheap, but can i run any conversion kit with these. and if not where can i get the kit for oem, without going to the dealer.

Spindle nuts & locking washers from a D44 ('73-'96 Ford) fit the D35 as well.

Im trying to do the exact opposite as you. Why would you want to go to manual? Is it stronger? I would prefer to lock the hubs from the inside then have to go out there and do it. Not because of lazyness but if I got myself in a mess then id like to put it on without having to go out put it on then when im out go unlock them lol.

Yes, the manual hubs are stronger if you use the right ones. Warn makes a hub that's pretty much indestructible.

and as for getting in and out to engage them...you can run Manual hubs "locked " all the time without damaging anything.

the axles and driveshaft spin, but the transfer case isnt locked in so no 4 wheel drive.

so the question is....if you can get a hub that WONT fail like the auto hubs, and is stronger...why wouldnt you be using them?
