If I take my muffler off will it hurt my MPG?

I only get about 19 on a good day now. My gearing is wrong for my tires. I'm supposed to have 215-70R14's on it. I'm running 235-75R15's in the front and 225-75R16's (I think. Might be 70's) in the back until I get my new tires in the front to match the rear. You wont notice a big change in the mpg. If your truck has a good tune up and you drive it right your mpg will be in the lower 20's. I would fill it up drive it for a couple of days then fill it again to calculate your mileage to find out for sure.
Somehow I doubt that. I ran my truck with half a muffler (don't ask) for about two years. You will notice a Huge drop in MPG. And the sound is quite awful.
Oh, as well as a Huge drop in power. That more than anything else.

Sometimes you can notice a SLIGHT loss in power. More of a (MINUTE) loss of power. That is only cause the engine loses some back pressure without the muffler. As for MPG, should stay they same. The cat being clogged or a bad O2 sensor about the only thing on the exhaust that will change your MPG for the worse.
Theres that term again. you won't lose any power from no muffler, the engine shoudl get all the "back pressure" it needs before the muffler anyways.
Why did the muffler fall off anyways? Rusted?
Time for a cheapy new one?
and only 19mpgs? What gearing do you have?
A clamp fell off. Must not have been tight enough. And I have the wrong gearing. Can't remember what it is, but it's low. Like 3.14 or something. I need an upgrade.
