[question]i want to start off-roading

I have a 1992 Ford Ranger XLT extended cab it has a 3.0 V6 and 5 speed manual and its only 2WD, it's a great daily driver and I love it, mileage wise, it has about 190,000. It's basically original, except for aftermarket leafsprings that are about 6 months old and a alpine 6 disc CD changer, from 1992. And last week I was doing a little off-roading in a friend's truck in northern Wisconsin and it was awsome, so now I want to take my truck off-road, but I sadly dont know much about off-roading, but I'm learning, so any help or suggestions or links to other sites would be great. I don't want to make any drastic changes, because it is my daily driver, and I'm not going to be going serious off-roading but enough to get dirty and have some fun.

bodylift a l/s and some good tires will be the easiest way to get into offroading

If you put a locker in your truck you'd be surprised how wheel you can do with 2wd. A little bit of lift and some more aggressive tires, mud terrain or all terrain is up to you. Those are some simple thing that will benefit greatly.

Beyond that, just start exploring and have fun!
