Hi guys, been browsing these forums awhile and I now have a topic to post. right now I'm looking into redoing the audio setup on my 99 ranger supercab. I'm not sure where to put my speakers seems to be my main problem.

Option A) 6X8 3 ways all around in factory locations.
Option B) 5.25 Components mounted in the kicker panels, with 6X8's in the front doors. No speakers in the back, possible powered sub added later. Not really going for bass.

What would be the way to go for the best sound? I already have a 4 channel amp, and I'm going to get a new deck of course.

I already listened to it with all sound faded to the front, and I didn't notice much difference with the rear speakers gone. How would I wire 4 speakers all in the front? Would it sound wierd? I don't want to just place all speakers in factory locations as it seems like a waste to have the pointing at my feet, and 2 of the speakers behind me that aren't being heard.

Thanks for any and all input =D

i'd go with option b personally. that way all the sound is directed at you, the way it should be. and the sub in the back will give you a nice well rounded sound. maybe add some tweets on the a-pillars too.

and i gotta ask. whered the name hurblegeebie come from? :)

Yeah, I think I'm gonna go with option B. The components will cost a bit more but I think theyll sound better. I can always switch the 6X8's to the back doors after if I don't like it too I guess =D but I'm sure the 5.25s in the kick panel aimed at me should sound pretty good.

And the name is just something that came to me when I was choosing a name one time, been using it ever since

id go with option b minus the 6x8 in the doors. 5.25" comps in some fiberglass kicks would sound great. im not positive but i believe you would have to vent to the kicks into the frame. but i would try them completly sealed first. and for a rear fill you could always put the 6x8 in the facotry rear locations and amp those, but set the hpf at 80-100hz.
