The replacement pulley (Dayco 89007) is different from the original. The original is plastic and the Dayco is metal. Also the Dayco is made different.
Anybody have any trouble with changing it out? Thanks.

Well that's awfully vague. Care to add some information on how they are "made different"?

You have this entire situation bass-ackward.

Your original tensioner had a metal pully.

The replacement tensioner that is now installed on your truck has a plastic pully.

You are installing what Ford originally installed, a METAL PULLY.

The bearing in a metal pully is easily replaceable, bearing part number is 6203-xxx. -xxx will designate the QUALITY and design features/seals of the bearing that you buy (-2RS is common).

Here is a link for bearing part number data: http://www.gizmology.net/bearings.htm

Thanks Earl

So far as I know the pulley has never been changed out. (I bought the truck new.)
The Dayco is a stamped metal pulley and the plastic is molded plastic.
The plastic has held up well in 220K miles. I hope the metal holds up as long.
Thanks.
