i am planning on running a dana 44 or the dana 60 front axle i have here at the house in the front of my 83 but my question is what kinda leaf springs can i use for the front springs i have a set of chevy springs in the rear but could i get another set of them and run them on the front axle or will i need to find another set that would work different please let me know i would realy like to get started this weekend

do some measuring, most rear leaf springs are alot longer and softer then front springs, why not use coils?

because i realy dont want to use coil and i dont think coil will be strong enough for the engine that i have in the truck.

??? unless you have a cummins diesel from a dump truck in your truck you can find coils that will work. rear springs up front would be even worse if its that heavy...

post specs on truck...

just some front chevy springs would be find, 3/4 ton if your worried about weight, go look at my build i hade 6" superlift chevy springs in front, way to stiff even with my 302v8

well i have a 12 valve cummin in the truck, it use to have my old 4bt but i took that out and put it into my daily driver but yea it is heavy and im not one who realy want to put coil in the front of the truck just cause well i dont want to i guess but hey to each his own.

when i get the truck done i will have some pic up im hopin to get it done this weekend i still got to put the t case in and then im hopin to find some good front springs to hold the front end up

If your dead set on runnin leafs 78-79 f250 or f350 4x4 spring fit without extending the frame and center your wheels right where they need to be. The 78-79 f250's and f350's were heavy trucks alone then add the weight of a 460 These springs should do the trick for you. They are easy to find and relativly cheap.

Pictures of this Cummins. I am itching to call BS on this but I would like to be proven wrong.

If you were smart enough to get a Cummins crammed into a RBV then I pray you are not stupid enough to run it with a d44 for a front axle.....

also cummins came stock with coils why not use those, i dont understand why you would want leafs... but if your set on them do what dangerous_rangerous said

list the specs on your truck, tranny/t case/axles etc...

Hmm, that's funny. I have a HPCR 5.9L Cummins in my truck, and it has coil springs up front....:icon_confused:

:drool:dude, 4bt in a RBV pics would go under my mattress right now if you catch my drift
