i put a 8.8" rear end my 85 ranger, which had the 7.5" and i was wondering would the backing plates and brake assembly on a 7.5" work on a 8.8"?

thats what i want.. my truck dont have abs and it has the 10" brakes i want the 9" the 10" lock up i belive cause of a proportioning vavle? any who i never had any problems with the 9" they worked just fine and i would like to switch back.. so anyone trythis?

I've converted all my Rangers from 9 to 10". 10" was an option on the 7.5. All Ford trucks have the locking up rear brake problem. You just need to get the adjustment just right. To loose and they grab, to tight and they grab.

i have adjusted them just fine... is there a portioning valve on the explorer? or would the fact that my truck is an 85 with no abs and the 8.8 ouf of the explorer does? that shouldnt matter thought right? someone told me the backing plates with all the parts on the 7.5 axle will bolt on the the 8.8? any help would be appreashate it :)
