Well my AC has never worked since I got it, but now it squeaks and squeals like no other to the point that I'm embarrassed to drive. If I buy the w/o AC belt and run it, will my engine light be on all the time? 94 4.0L.

No, but you will have to remove the compressor to install the bypass belt.

Are you sure? Just looking at the diagram under the hood I should clear, but am I wrong?

I have mine removed. Pretty sure the belt would hit, but hey try it first. May be ok.

NO, you don't have to remove the compressor. I temporarily bypassed my AC compressor last summer and the belt fit fine with the compressor still installed.

Yeah I just got back from the auto parts store. No more obnoxious squeaking that you can hear a mile away.
