I'm looking for a rear bumper for my 92 ranger and was wondering if anyone knows if a bumper from a next gen. (93+) ranger would work.

Did you try the search function yet?

There is no way. Completely different wheel base. Ita an inch or two wider.

wheel base isnt gonna make any difference for bumper fitment. im assuming you mean track width but i dont see how that would change anything either. the inner bed didnt change at all over the years even though the bed sides got a style update. also, distance between the frame rails didnt change, at least not between first, second and third gen. (they were different between rangers and b2's though) no idea if the bumper will just bolt on or not, but i cant see it being that far off.

What Kunar said.

The frames on the rangers from 83 - 97 are pretty much identical. The beds on the 93+ are a tad wider (two inches, 3 tops) on the outside, but every other dimension is the same.

I have seen a 3rd gen with a 1st/ 2nd gen bed on it in the junk yard, and while the body lines did not match up and it was a tad narrower, it didn't look too off, and it had the 3rd gen bumper if I recall. I snapped a pic of it, I will have to post it up, but I don't think I got the bumper in the pic.

And you can put a 1st gen bed liner (under the rail style) in a 3rd + gen and it will fit with no issues. the over the rail style you can put a 3rd gen + into a 1st/ 2nd gen, but you will have a little bit of overhang.

Ok I guess it did not have the bumper on it... but the point is, it is a drop in swap on 83 to 97 rangers, and I would imagine that it will fit on 97 + as the dimensions for the bed mounts are teh same.

I have been working on my trailer hitch. So the bumper is not adjusted up tight just sitting there. But you can see it fits just fine.1995 model on a 1989.

To all you nay sayers, going off rear axle widths... Have you not noticed how far inward the tires are on 1st and 2nd Gen trucks, compared to the newer ones...
