I have a 77 GMC Sierra 25, it has a 203 transfer case.

I have a question about lockers. The truck has a 4 HI LOC and a 4 LO LOC. I'm still not really understanding much about lockers to be honest. A nice explanation would be cool.

I want to get the part time 4wd conversion kit http://coloradok5.com/milemarkerpt.shtml < but I'm curious, it says after that the only positions you have are 4wd hi, 4wd lo, 2wd hi 2wd lo. does that mean i lose my lockers??

I'm new to 4wd stuff so I'm a little confused.

negative, you would simply install a np205 or np208 depending on what your budget will allow, and u will need to convert the front to manual lockouts if they are not already there, the lockers will not be effected as you are not modifying the rears themselvs, that is the best answer i can give you with the information provided

the 203 case is a great case if have it for a strict wheeler, but id just swap in a 205 or 208 in its place for every day driving, and u will still have your 4 hi and 4 low with the lockers functioning(assuming your truck does have lockers cause not all of them do)

i dont think it means locking diffs.
hi loc and lo loc are just differnt terms for the range in your t-case.

how do you mean?

so you think swapping to a 205 would be better than converting?

ok ill explain hi and hi lock... when you put it in high the power given between the front and rear fluxuate back and forth for optimum traction (like taking turns on the road, so it dont hop) BUT when in lock its the same equal power distributed to both front and rear.. you follow??
