I have 92 ford ranger just picked up its a 2.3 5 speed runs good just been used hard on exterior. My key lock cylinder did not work so I removed it and when I did I found out the pieces around were busted I can start with flat head but a new lock cylinder won't hold on place I tried it today. I was wonder since I can put my switch to were the steering wheel won't lock can I leave it there then run a toggle switch for accessories and one for the ignition and then push button for the starter then when I turn it off with those will it kill power so my battery won't die since I'm leaving were the lock cylinder codes in the position were it won't lock any help be great only other way be get a new steering column and really don't want to dump much money into since its a beater I got for hauling wood I attached a photo of what lock looks like
