metal gate to replace the tailgate and hold the tire but don't know what to do with tailgate

Well my truck was blue but then they paint it purple before i got but it is very much purple and that a pic taking form my phone which sucks..

P235/75/r15 on 15x8 rims and i got the tires from my uncle for a hundred bucks and they where almost brand new and my old tire where slicks and sucked in any kind of weather..
