Is this real? I'm from washington and only hot, prepared food is taxed,In the state of New Jersey the purchase of a pumpkin purchased for decoration is not taxed, but if it purchased for food the transaction is taxed.
If I purchase a pumpkin with the intent to make a jack-o-lantern with the husk and cook the seeds for eating, how should the transaction be properly taxed?

Lol so if it's the deli at the store when hot its taxed, however if packaged and placed in the cooler, once it's been heated to long, it becomes untaxable, how ever that would be a good plan if it worked I see where you were going. So if you let it cool off before eating it, do you still have to pay tax?
Holy Moses!!! That looks like a good time.I've considered moving up from potatoes to pumpkins...

I like the drunken tequila-swilling Mexican skeleton in the back.
