I have a 1991 Explorer 4.0. I have the motor out and I'm working on pulling the wires. I have everything out from the passenger side from the computer to the headlights. The driver's side in the engine bay is out except for that damned plastic molex-type thing that goes thru the firewall near the steering column. Does this need to come out, and if so, how does it come apart?

Are you talking about the Big White Plug? If so it has a bolt through the middle. It won't come all the way out. Just take a 10mm socket and loosen until the connector comes apart. One side will be in the cab and one under the hood. If that's not what you mean can you post a pic of it?

Are you doing a dash swap also, or just the engine bay wiring?

What year b2? If it's a 89 you have a fairly easy swap if it's older it's still not to bad.
