just picked up new a new toy. 98 ford ranger xlt extended cab, 3.0 L. engine is blown on it. transmition is good. i got a 4.0L engine ready to go, its from my 96 ford ranger xlt extended cab. my questions are...

Can i just pull the 3.0 L out and put the 4.0 L in with the same transmition that the 3.0 was bolted onto and work as an automatic? because the 4.0 was bolted onto my manual transmition.

If so, what all would i have to replace for it all to work right and run?

if not, what conversions would i have to do to put my manual transmition in with the 4.0 L ?

would the engine mount up on the engine mounts? and transmition mount up as well? with no adjustments.

please help me. work at les shuab, just got my lift tires and rims in today on freight. so wanna start another project. please and thank you.
