are those hella horns on the subaru?

how do you like them? are they loud?

yea they are, i love them, really make people jump when they are about to hit you or cut you off. Also super loud on the highway.

Hella Supertones.

prior to storage i removed the 93-97 style fenders and started fitting the newer 2000 6" flared ones. Which you could see in the pics before all blotchy from sanding. They are the ones that are actually supposed to be used with my hood (current one on my truck) and along with the header panel which is at the garage, Not on the truck yet. More to come.

Been working on most of the stuff unseen to people. Fixing some electrical issues, and mess ups due to some pesky mice over the past few years. Got the fans working again and fixed the overheating problem. Also threw in some new fluids and a few additives. Its actually running pretty good right now. And not smoking as much as it was when i Parked it 3 years ago which is pretty crazy. Also tried to get the rolled over cab water tight again.

Video fo it running well after 3 years--> http://s88.photobucket.com/albums/k...Truck/?action=view&current=NATRangerStart.flv

Sounds pretty good, can definatly tell the ol' 3.0 is wore out.

NAT, yoiu have no idea how happy it makes me to see this truck out in daylight again and getting some attention. I wish you all the best with its build and with your racing, keep us posted on the progress.........

thanks man, always nice to hear, makes me want to finish it even sooner. Next on the list is the clutch lines, I have an air leak somewhere, im not leaking fluid, but I keep getting air in the system. it makes it alot easier to do work on a rig that can drive, not just start up.

whats up man, thanks for the kind words.

Due to the fact im learning more every year, im really excited to tear back intot he 95 ranger, there are honestly a TON of things im not happy about with the front suspension, and I will be relieved when I finish redoing it over time. After building that other ranger which I sold, and then my experience with the subaru offroad, I have come to understand suspension set ups and how to make them reliable for long distances and tons of abuse alot more than I knew when I started this project 4 years ago or so.

It really has a ton of work to be done to it for me to be satisfied, I want to redo and finish all the mounts, finally complete the front bumper supports, cut off all the mounting brackets for the dana 44 front end and redo my geometry. One of our biggest issues is we did some fast welds and warped one of the brackets so the axle isnt perfectly centered (bugs the hell out of me). Also Im going to get rid of the current shock hoops and build a nice tight engine cage. Once all of that is done and theres a set of stock dana 44 beams instead of my bent ones I have now ill be much happier, and the truck will be ready to be raced again.

As for right now I have to keep it off the road for legal reasons and for the sake of keeping under the radar for my job.

Theres plenty to do to make it much much better than it is now, glad everyone likes it the way it is.

It will be an engine cage made to fit around the 351, still staying 4wd (if i lived out west id keep it two) but for around here its nice to have the best of both worlds and get to take it on a trail now and then when not hitting some jumps. Might thow on some 2wd beams temporarily while I build up the stock 44's I have sitting here now (un-bent). It will be an interesting year.

Finally finished the front end conversion just in time for a local show this weekend.

Lovin it, can you get better pictures of the mounts you made for the front bumper? I'm looking to build one similar to that and i've been looking at ways to mount it.

I mounted it a few different ways over the years, thats the rough edition not trimmed for a removable bumper with the thought in mind that at many races bumpers that stick out that far and have edges where other trucks can get snagged and caught are against the rules on the track. I have the tube bumpers that look like big ovals that you need to race with, so this is how I can keep it legal and be happy with the looks off the track. Ill get some better pics tomorrow if I work on it.

I cut a little bit of the crush section of the frame off, then we welded on some angle iron, did the same to the bumper, and bolted it together. Now I just have to trim off the access from the brackets and finish boxing in where it mounts to the tube.

the new panda is a sexy bitch!
and i love that ranger

the new panda is a sexy bitch!

hahaha

Yea were trying to this weekend to promote legal forms of racing as a vendor. Its a new thing we do between races.

Going to get a few of the NAT trucks and bikes possibly together for it. Possibly a few photos as well of the group. Should be interesting, lets hope no hurricanes ruin the weekend.
