I'm not sure if this is the right forum or not but anyway I have been dormant on this site for a while I bought an 85 b2 back in 2008 just your stock 2.8 5 speed 4wd for 400 bucks and its time to resurrect the old girl I will be doing a complete rebuild of the whole truck inside and out in honor of my little brother that was murdered march 11 2011 it was going to be our project it will be a slow steady project nothing extreme yet I may come in time to time asking questions the project is all I think about I put her down because she was burning 2 gallons of oil a week and I bought a 93 f250 HD I will be sure to take pictures and document the build

S'cribd. Sorry about your brother.

Burning 2 gallons of oil a week is not a good thing. However are you 100% sure it was burning it and not just dumping it on the ground? I just had a new rear main seal installed and some work done on my oil pan in my 84 B2 because of the same issue of losing a ton of oil, if I drove about 60 miles the engine would leak out 2 quarts of oil. Be absolutely sure its really burning oil LOL.

Holy crap you live in Marana. My grandparents used to go down there for the winter. If I lived closer I have an engine block with crank shaft I got a hold of, just needs pistons, rings, and everything else.

Good luck with your project, my 84 is a project as well, just getting it mechanically reliable has been a huge task, the previous owner did absolutely everything they possibly could I think to destroy it both mechanically and physically. Needs some extensive body work due to rust issues now. Runs and drives great, and its not puking oil all over my driveway anymore.

Sorry to hear about your brother, losing someone close to you is always hard. Keep us posted on your progress, will be interesting to follow.
