Project Life Support.

I love how everybody points out the defective parts on their truck to us. And we all seem to use the same figure too.

I don't have anything to hide, my trucks a pos and that's why I'm fixing all of it's issues and making it a beast.

When I get done it's going to be rolling on 35's under 6" of lift. Jeep straight axle up front, with a carbed 302 or 351 being the powerhouse. Front clip is going to be an 01-03 Edge with Fiberwerx fenders and possibly bedsides. Front bumper is going to be tube/plate with an integrated winch, rear is square tubing with a swing-away tire carrier. Going to throw on a cap, just because I like having one for my gear. It's not going to be anything special, probably the same as the black one I "built" since they look good with explorer racks. Then I'm gonna start work on the interior, since the exterior is would be practically done. I need to finish painting my interior and recovering the fabrics. Carpet is going to get either dyed or replaced, and my covers on my seats will be dyed. Next is some sound. It already has some entry level speakers but I can make them crackle with my HU so they need some upgrading so I can get some real push to them. Of course I'd be putting in a sub too.

Then, I'll be halfway satisfied. Of course I'm going to upgrade things as I go along.

All of the sudden, my plans for putting a Dana 44 ttb in my truck doesn't seem too special...

Picked up a four core radiator from a JY explorer, installing that with the new radiator support and header panel I just ordered from JC Whitney. Hopefully the quality doesn't suck on those, I don't usually order from them.

Headlights, grill, and fenders are next on the list. I might bolt my OEM 93 bumper back on until I can afford to have a tube one made. No sense in searching high and low for a bumper to fit the timeline if I'm just going to swap it out anyway.

Got my core support and header panel today.

Not pleased.

The core support is fine, it has some bent tabs but I can live with that.

However, JC Whitney sent me the WRONG header panel and since they boxed it with the core support and almost NO packing material, it's smashed.

Most sites that I deal with send a legit packing slip with a return label on it. This is some blue piece of paper with almost no information on it. I go to the site to look up return info, and the only option they have listed is a "smart label" where the cost of the return is deducted from my refund and the only carrier is USPS.

I managed to find a form on there that I can submit regarding the damaged part. Let's see what they're plan is to make this right.

I'll still throw the core support on, but since a bunch of chunks of plastic are no use to me I'll be ordering another header panel elsewhere.

I will no longer be doing business of ANY kind with JC Whitney.

JC Whitney is still dicking me around. I got an authorization for the return, but they won't send me a shipping label. It was supposed to be in a separate email that I did not receive and now they won't respond to my messages.

Also, I had hoped that with my new job I would be able to finish up the Ranger and get it back on the streets, however I never have time to work on it now. Haha.

I work on mine when the weather lets me. Hopefully it will start to get nicer outside soon.

Upper 40's today. I got switched to 4AM-12:30PM for the next few days, I'm hoping to make an axle run on one of them.

Still haven't gotten my axle. Came across a really good deal on a set of headlights and some body bushings so I had to spend my weekly budget on them instead.

I did send my core support back, still waiting to hear from JC Whitney on it. I ordered a different one from a different company today, should be here soon.

Started to blizzard as soon as I got to wrenching yesterday at the yard, as soon as I gave up and started to drive away it stops. Figures.

Going back in a couple days, I have my eyes on a driveshaft and a rear end. Mmm..

Saw a moderately rust free front end there too, Jeep axle. Might take a stab at it if I have time.

People may bash on them but they are a good axle. I have been driving in FWD with mine for the past week now due to a busted yoke on my rear output and have to say it holds up just fine.

Other then maybe needing to regear it, I say go for it.

Got some goodies today, cost more than I anticipated but I still got a good deal on them.

I have to go back for the brake internals, somebody already gutted them but it was the only axle with the gearing I wanted.

Also got my driveshaft, not my first choice but it's going to work fine until I do my 4x4 conversion.

31 spline 8.8 with 4.10 gearing and a L/S

Needs:
-Differential Cover
-Internals
-Paint
-Shock Mounts
-Spring Plates

I also need to pick up some brake cables and such. The rotors could use some touching up, might have them resurfaced.

This is my new driveshaft. It has some undercoating or something on it. Should clean up nice.
