Project Guinea Pig

The parts are coming together. New spring hangers from Napa. They were out of stock on the shackle hangers at that store - I'll pick them up in Langley tomorrow (?), Picking up leaves from a 93 1500 series Suburban tomorrow afternoon. Might use the AAL's I have on these (haven't decided). Going to use the Belltech shackles I bought for the B-II a couple years ago.
I made the executive decision to use the 91 Explorer 8.8 with the Detroit in it so I bought new Trail Gear spring perches to convert to spring over and ordered wheel adapters (G-2) to convert to 5 on 5 1/2" pattern. I have 15x10 ARE Outlaw II wheels in storage someplace with 35" Dunlop Mud Rovers on them. One tire is toast and I don't think they make them anymore.
Also picked up a T55 Torx bit (okay, a set) in 1/2" drive so I can get the box off. That should help my speed on this pail.
Tyller at NSOR would prefer I bought a custom made pair of springs for the front. :icon_confused: Typical J@@p guy.

Awesome! Post your progress pictures so we can see!

Well I picked up the 63" Suburban leaves today. But didn't get the shackle hangers. (its on the list...) I'd post pix but my camera or software is fawking up. The software can't detect any recent pictures. I'll retry taking them tomorrow.
Going to try heat to remove the bolts from both ends of the leaf springs if theres decent weather. Much the same tactic to loosen the bolts in the box.

Hopefully my camera recovers and I can get pix. Weird. :icon_confused:

Well shit! I was hoping to see truck pics! I'm still intoxicated from last night and this would have made my morning 2,000% better....
I'm just sad now....

Lmfao.
I hope thats just the hyperbole talking.

On a related note I think I've sold the FX4 8.8 for $225. (paid $75.) A step closer to 4.88's for the 31 spline...

Shoot that's a darn good profit then. Any time you make 3x's as much as you spent it's a good thing!

I like it.

Still nothing from the damn camera. After the guy takes the axle outta here I might take it back where I got it and see if they'll fix it, or can find the pix in it.
I tried reloading software but theres blocks of pictures (separated by date) that can't be retrieved including yesterdays and todays pix.
:bawling:

The Jeep guy left without the axle.

He at first didn't believe it was 4.10's but after marking it and turning the pinion proved it was. Then he didn't like that he couldn't get the limited slip to unlock, so thinking it had a locker offered me $100. which I refused.
After he left I pulled the cover and of course theres a 4 pinion type limited slip in there. Also a little rust pitting on a few teeth of the ring gear so I'm gonna take it off Craigslist and use it long enough to get it serviced and wear the pitting off it. I'll find a use for it someplace.
Probably the first time in my life somebody has devalued a limited slip because they thought it was a locker. :dntknw:

Anyhoo, theres an old disposable camera in the pickup with a few shots left on it, I'll finish it off in here. Give me til tomorrow to get pix developed, k?

Edit: Looks like an LS to me.

Well, the box came off and I only broke half the box bolts. A little victory since I expected to break all of 'em and would have been happy with one bolt to take and match up. I took a bunch more pix with my camera and 6 with the disposable.
I think the problem with the camera is in the software. I can find pix on the camera itself so they're on the memory card - I might be able to recover them off that. If not theres a few on the disposable.
I have sh!t luck with cameras, always have. About the same with RBV's really. lol
:D

A $10. memory card reader solves my upload problem.

I'll post more later...

Awesome! Glad the camera is still good!

Me too!

A couple more: First, the reason I decided to tear it down - rust. These were fawked on both sides but I took apart the right one mostly with a screwdriver (pretendy mini prybar).

Second is to remind me of the main reason I do this, namely to keep the gf confused. She saw the box off earlier and informed me that I'm an idiot who'd better look after her car properly. I like having obvious things for her to b!tch about, it keeps her in check. :icon_thumby:

More pix of whatever was on the two disposable cameras in the truck tomorrow, sometime after 4 PM.

Nice! Keep throwing her the curve balls! Don't ever let her realize anything lol

Actually, the best thing is that by having "obvious" things to b!tch about and think I'm an idiot over, I totally slide on the subtle and hidden things in life. This is learned behavior of course, once upon a time I'd get caught doing dumb sh@t - now she thinks the truck is all my stupidity in one place.
Its not. lol :icon_rofl:

Well, after meeting a perspective employer yesterday, I should be back to work before the week is out. THATS great news for me!

And whats up with TRS lately? I keep getting a 'Parallel H' Error 404 page.
