project family wheeler. chop top 1 ton explorer.

With a little fab work (like I did), the 20 will bolt to anything. Advance Adapters makes a wide range of spud shafts that the 20 uses for an input shaft, and I'm actually taking my 1356 main shaft and am machining it down to accept the 6 spline main gear in the 20, so I don't need a long adapter. The end result is a tcase that is about 9" long from mounting surface to the end of the yoke, that combined with a less than 8" reduction box of the 1356, gives me a combined doubler length of around 17"...

with my wheelbase, a short doubler isnt my main concern.

the stock tank is coming out.

i got the rest of the back area ready to cut, getting ancy about cutting it but i need to do some searching and figure out all my cut lines first. the least body work the better.

will get some pics up after dinner.

Did i hear you're looking for a 435? They run about $100 around here but they're everywhere. If you're having trouble finding one google says we're only 3 hours away. I could snatch one up and meet you somewhere between here and there. Might even be able to find ya a 205 for a decent price.

Yea I still haven't found one yet, I appreciate it. I'll look around and if I can't find one I'll give ya a yell and we can figure something out.

Where are you in IL?

whats not pictured is i stripped all the wiring out of the back and got it out of the way and also pulled the roof rails so i can cut.

need to do a little reasearch to see where the roof needs to get cut and i have a few idea's for the bed rails.

I'm in charleston. All my contacts are in lincoln. I make my way over there about every other weekend though so that shouldn't be an issue.

yea Charleston isnt too far, ive been through the area befoire through Terre haute.

Whats the plans for the fuel tank??
SVT

Lol gotta stay away from the beer when the plasma is ready to go :thefinger: didn't you see the ranger? Sheet metal just seems to disappear :D

Thinking about a fuel cell or some other tank under the back.

Jon, you may want to throw the back seat in to make sure you have clearance for it....

gonna look good:icon_thumby:

Hey man, did a bit of work on my Sterling 10.5, I wrote a bit of tech in my tow rig thread in non-RBV builds, if youre interested.

Just an FYI... A rear F-150 19gal. tank fits in the "spare tire" spot, so you can get rid of the stock rock finder. :icon_thumby:
