well sorry for not getting a good update in a while funds have been tight. what you will find below my surpise some, well i got the ranger back to my house after it desides to take a dump on its chest and got to looking to why it was running like it was. After doing some research with a awesome tool voltmeter i found that my coil was good so i was getting spark so i took it for a test drive down the road it was running better but still not good. i continued to go and then hit a bump and my coil that i was testing fell! The truck stoped dead i got got to look at the damage It wouldnt start. i had to push it down the street FUN :D then i got right down to it and went to the Friendship junkyard and got not one but 2 coils to be sure i wasnt crazy. yup i wasnt :icon_twisted: i dug a litte further and found a crack in my ignition module :annoyed: so blind with furry i took out the distributor not noteing the location of where it was but that is alright im pretty sure the timming was off due to the fact i reached back and could turn the hold down bolt by hand... anyway new remaned distributor monday will have pics of the timing and what not. oh yea and this is what my computer looks like:icon_confused: how it got like this is beyond me (asshole PO) also after removing eec i tore back to carpet to see what else i could find oh boy a nice big rust hole right next to the computer, who knows how long mud and water has been flung on this thing anyone wanna hook me up(2.9 eec) also a random wire had a connector spliced into it anyone know what the pink/black and orange/light blue wire go to i tried to follow it but it seemed to just disapear it is located under the heater core going through the firewall? sorry again for the long post.

EDIT:
well this is wrong. i have fooled myself i looked over everything today and narrowed it down to 2 things that could be it.
1. eec relay
2. the actual computer
Does anyone have one they are willing to part with?

thanks for sure let me know because i have read up on the doubler and saw you made one leumas and if i can get the 2nd t case for free i just might make one. i also read that you can cut and weld it yourself or is that like putting a barbie bandage on a gapping wound?

im pretty sure that is on trucks with automatic transmissons because there was gear oil in the case when i droped mine and i know for a fact that the fm146 uses 4.8 pints of gear oil which is a pain in the but to put it i had to make a run to lowes to pick up 4 ft of hose to get the oil in from the engine bay:D

filled mine with ATF, thats the proper oil for trannys. maybe the oil looked like coffee cause of the gear oil. my tranny had 275000km's before it pooped and the tranny oil was at least a year old, still nice and clean, very red, in fact the only problem with mine was the bearings were goin and the shift got stuck and the clutch slave leaked so we decided to change it so i wouldn't have to fill the clutch fluid in -40 celcius every time i wanted to drive to or from school. but ya we even reused the ATF from the old tranny to refill the new. haha the old tranny didnt go due to bad, just lack of it:icon_thumby:
