project changing ways on bronco 2

well im changing ways on the bronco 2

adding a ranger cab and 2wd front end and a 351c

more plans are to move leaf springs in to fit a 13 inch rims and 28x14.5x15 tires in the rear and a explorer 8.8

the 2wd frame im geting the parts from going to transfer the motor crossmember and stuff to the bronco frame

first test fit to find out driver post is 1/8 to tall and pass side post is 1/16 to tall going to do some more trimeing and work and hope to have it ready to weld this weekend

well I got the roof all tacked in place and started welding it up

well got the 2wd parts allmost in got to make a bracket and finshis modifing one bracket and trim the engine crossmember up a little i picked to use ranger ibeams for two reason more drop for stock parts and if i want to go lower latter ranger parts are cheep

well i got the front end back togeather and did a driveway alinement amd started on the rear i chose to weld on some sping mounts reather then a cheep flip kit

well i played with the rear end today got it set about were i want it after haveing the leaf packs apart 5 times and swaping the shakels 3 times

for the rear i ended up pulling 3 leafs from both sides keep the two bigest leafs and fliped the axel from under to over the leafs and keep the 2inch lift shackels on it to lift back up some but still soft in rear

Why didnt you just grab an explorer 8.8 with discs? You're already running spring under...

I dont like the look of drums on a dropped show truck...it kinda ruins it. But good job so far.!

An explorer rear end to wide this one really to wide but it work till I get the 9"rear chop Down
 
Well got the rear back togeather needs a c-notch bad but I end up flipping axel pulling 3 of the 5 leaf Spings out and used 2" lift shackles to get the rear level with front keep in mind I still got to weld in some rust repare panels so I will lose 2"s of wheel gap because I cut the fenders 2"s when it was 4x4

well i pulled the truck out the building to clean befor i rip out the v6 stuff to start the v8 swap this gave me a few mins to take a few shots of the truck

and back in the building to start riping out the motor

Small little update got the motor and trans about ready to come out still have transmission mount and drive shaft holding it in

well after messing with mounts and a oil pan all day i got the motor sitting about were i want it i still have to make the mounts and weld up the oil pan were i notch it and make a new oil pick but first v8 pic of the 351c in the truck

Well I started the oil pan but got to grind 2 welds down and touch up them I got 3 little pin hole leaks I plan to fix today the part on the side I added to add some more oil room and space for the pick up tube

Well I got the transmission crossmember made and motor mounts fixed up

re-shaped the heater box to clear the motor i just made 2 cuts and took a heat gun heated it up and took a pice of scrap pipe to roll and push it in and re shape it

and used a cheep-o plastic welder to seal it back up
