We went out and played in the mud/woods twice this week.

This some of the stuff we were driving through.

We need to swap the leaf springs. He has no flex at all. The rear tire is 5 inches off the ground.

We were on a trail made for quads, it was tight in spots. A tree didn't like beeing ran over.

It's actually worse than the picture shows.

Finally, we are going to finish his Toyota. He wants to make a trip to Bundy Hill in Michigan next month. I'll try to update this when I get time.

Things to do:
63" Leaf spring swap in rear,
IFS steering box,
Shock hoops for rear,
Finish plating the frame,
Longer shackles in the front,
Hope to get all this done in one weekend.

God that suspension sucks. My stock 80 yota flexes better than that. Probably some shitty skyjacker leafs on that thing. Up grad to some trail gear leafs they flex like no other. Ditch those lift blocks too. And the shackles will help alot If he hasnt already ordered a pair get a set of greasable ones from marlin crawler.

Yes it does suck. Lol
Swapping to Chevy leaf in the rear will help a lot. We have a set of 7" shackles for the rear from trailgear that we will put on, and we are having a set made for the front.

Started working on the leaf springs. Have to remove the stock bushings where the shackles will be. Going to be using the real gear bushings that came with the shackle kit. I'll post pictures later.

Removed the axle. When we lowered the axle, the springs pack came apart, the center bolt was rusted away.

Tomorrow we will start on cleaning up the frame. Remove the stock spring hangers and prep the.frame for more plating.

Small update. Made a front bumper. We started on it a month ago and then it sat until today. It will hold a winch and will finish it when he gets one, but for now it is done.

Not to bad really since it was all made with scrap steel pieces.

Looks good. Whens he getting highsteer and dual cases?

He needs to find a new motor first. This one is eating rod or main bearings. Tons on shavings in the oil.

As slow as this build is going, it might be a few years before he gets highsteer.

If he needs a motor why not toss a 302 in with a np435/zf5 and skip the doubler
