Now I need a Zytanium cross pin so I can install the Aussie....

Why do you need a new pin? Aussie's are designed to use the stock pin I thought..

The one I have is for an 8.8

Not its not a problem but in theory it may fail under less load than an aftermarket one would be able to withstand.

Last couple of times I have gone to start my truck it has started a little harder than I have ever heard before.

Usually it cranks right up no hint of hesitation, good strong start immediately after I turn the key over.

Now when I turn the key over it sounds like the battery is weak and the intial crank of the motor is slow and sluggish. Start up takes about 0.5 seconds longer than normal now.

Its not the battery I know that, since it is new. Unless the alternator is going out and not charging the battery, which is possible BUT my idiot voltage gauge reads fine.

Any ideas, other than maybe the starter itself (solenoid clicks fine) or the alternator?

go to advanced auto and let them put it on their tester.. they usually have the better charging system tester than the other part stores.

the little device they take outside is a POS, dont rely on them to tell you if you have a problem. take them out of the vehicle and inside the store if you want to be sure.

a guy i work with took his honda to advanced and they came outside and said it tested fine. the next day his car died, i came over took out the alternator and we took it to pep boys and it was bad. threw a new one in and it's been fine ever since

Is that the same as an Autozone? We don't have advance autos out here in CA.

I am either thinking I will have to buy and alternator or a starter this weekend. I can't afford to not have a car next week as I have several big tests, and now that my mom's car just blew the tranny last week, there won't be any spare vehicles to shuffle around. My mom might have to drive MY truck, I might have to drive dad's CJ-5 to get to school.

If my truck takes a crap we are all screwed lol at least until my mom buys another car :icon_confused:

Hopefully it starts up tonight when I get out of class to go home :(
