damn, moving right along. might be a good time to replace body mounts while it's off?

I've actually got some somewhere that I never got around to putting on. Gonna clean the frame and paint, and fix two freeze plugs that have been weeping for years. Take the bed off and in a few weeks starting ripping apart the ranger.

Total tear down took 4+8+5 = 17 hours. Not bad for my first time (while taking notes, pictures and labeling nuts/bolts).

Second time is always faster tho...but reassembly might take a while assuming everything goes smoothly (which it never does).

So prolly have another 25+ hours

I'll fix her up doing you worry!

Anybody know what these modules are/dO? the one on the left was mounted in the backseat on the driver's side, and the one on the right was mounted same place but on the passenger side:

I'm guessing I will need to find a new place for them in the new Ranger since I cannot mount them in the doors since they swing out...

The one on the right looks like your 4x4 control module.

Okay thanks! So that has to find a home for sure.

The other module, the smaller one looked like the radio or antenna plugged into it. A bigger black wire.

May be one of those crazy amps for the radio. Idk. I ran all new speaker wires to bypass all that crap.

But why would the antenna hook back there? Idk...

Keyless entry?

Sent from......

The one on the left is for remote keyless entry (The "RAP" in the FCC ID number stands for "Remote Anti-theft Personality") and the base number on the other module says it is an amp.

Perfect thanks!

Anybody know where they "live" on a Ranger with 4 doors (1998+)? I would suspect under the dash possibly (but not much room there) or maybe in the doors again like my Mazda?

Replaced two freeze plugs that I've been battling with for years. Super easy access so now is the time.
