Problems Starting My Ranger :(

I have a 1995 Ford Ranger 4.0L 4x4 5 Speed. Since I have owned this ranger I have had nothing but success with it. Once in a while it would have a problem starting but recently it has become a major issue. So I took it to my local garage and it took them a whole day to diagnose the problem, because this problem is intermittent, of having a bad fuel pump and a bad top of the gas tank clamp where the fuel assembly get held on to. I found a new tank and bought a new fuel assembly. After leaving the garage the truck started fine but now it’s having the problem again. I really need help any information will due. Thanks again

What exactly is the problem? Can you describe it?

Listen for the pump tp prime when you turn the key on before you engage the starter. It should run for a few seconds. If you don't hear it and since you already replaced the pump and sender, I would suspect the fuel pump relay. These relays can act up for awhile before giving out completely.

Hopeing the garage you took it to tested and found no fuel pressure at times before replaceing the pump, Try this

The relay is under the hood in the fuse box next to the battery. (You may have to look in the owners manual to see witch relay is witch) If your truck has A/C switch the fuel pump relay with the A/C relay as they are the same and give it a try.
