OK here is my situation I'm going up to stay with my grandpa for a couple of months... He was a mechanic back in the day(he's in his 70s) and I was telling him about how I wanted to put a lift kit on my truck and he got all pissed off and started telling me about how it would be top heavy and id flip it and how it would **** up the universal joints and everything else and I just don't have any idea what to tell him or do any suggestions are much appreciated.

I meant to post this in General Discussions lol... i'm a newbie.

Just don't make him right, because depending on how you do your truck, he could be.

my grandpa does the same, just do it the right way and he wont be right lol. ive come to have respect for older guys like that. i see there side of young guy/gal + Lifted 4x4= rubberside up

my grandpa never complained about the trucks. he suprised me when i got the exhaust and he said it sounded good. the only thing he bitched me out for was the motorcycles but he usually gave good advice.

Old people are vastly under-rated in my opinion...I mean old people...like 53 and up...lol

53 - I am almost there. A lot of the time just understanding the younger language is my trouble. Just have to go over it a couple times to interpret young into "old" terms.

Tell him you want his help with it so that can avoid those things he's talking about.

Well he IS you Grandpa, I know what I would say to non family members!:D

I always say,one more time in english.

just show him one of the new longer shock absorbers that go on the kit. explain to him that it keeps body roll to a minimum, in addition to all the other benefits. and then accidentally let it tip over into his balls.

You can't square Gramps in the balls...a shock like that may do him in...

thanks guys I'm definatly planning on going ahead and doing it anyway... it's funny as hell though when i think about it though because his trucks are almost rusted of the frame and when you open the hood you find gatorade bottles and rubber bands lol so they are probly way more dangerous. I guess it's just a generation thing
