I just changed my trans. out of my 1998 ranger 3.0 engine with automatic with overdrive, before i changed it it would not shift right when it was snowing out with the slush on the road, it would shift first and second ok but when it hit 3rd it would disenguage, spedometer would go to zero and i would have to down shift to 2nd to get it to enguage again. It doesnt do it when its dry or really cold. It shifts fine. It did it when i had the old trans in it, i figured it was just the worn trans since it had 240,000 miles on it. The trans i put in my truck is a 03 with 55,000 miles on it. It started to do it again under the same conditions wet or slushy on the roads it disenguages going into 3rd. Is their a switch that is getting wet or just worn can anyone tell me what it might be?
