ok so i was wondering since my springs are under the axel could i take and rotate the axle 180 degrees so the tire that is on the drivers side right now would be on the passengers side which in return would put the spring perches on top. just dont know if the diff would still line up with the rear driveshaft or not, please help as i dont really have money and am needing right around 3 inches of lift, but i dont wanna do a body lift. sorry if its the stupidest question u have ever heard. TIA

The axle rotation would be reversed, so you would have 5 reverse gears but only one slow forward gear, it would be cool but not practical.

Lets say 1st gear turns drive shaft clockwise and then differential turns Driver's side wheel counter clockwise, so forward.

If you flipped over the whole shebang so driver's side wheel was now on the passenger side, in 1st the drive shaft would still turn clockwise and the wheel would still turn counter clockwise, but on the passenger side that is reverse not forward.

Ride quality issues aside, why are you not considering doing a spring over conversion? I'd do that long before a body lift.

I am unclear on why a lift is absolutely required (ie "needed").

shran, cause i dont have money right now so i cant pay a welder to weld the spring perches on top, and adsm where i am now currently employed requires some lift for bigger tires since my stock expo has hardly any clearance and there are big rocks burried half way under the ground and i keep hitting my diffs otherwise i wouldnt really bother with lifting it right now

And what about your front axle....?

Off-road driving is all about picking the right line. Basically, go around what you can't go over.

chrwilkins30 a flip kit does sound good but doesnt it have to be welded on? and doesn't a flip kit net me right around 5-5 1/2 inches? and urban i was gonna do a washer lift up front, and i can't really go around them cause there are only a few spots that the rocks are spread out enough to go around. i seriously dont know y someone would want a house built where they are having us build it but i guess they are gonna have the road graded but not until after the house is done since her husband has a lifted chevy that can make it there as is right now so im stuck with driving the rocky road.
