Rear shoe is long, front shoe is thick.

Rassen frassen E brake cable. I was going crazy trying to fix the stuck LR brake. Every thing between the drum and the backing plate was new. I quit last night completely baffled. The rear shoe wouldn't snug up to the stop above the wheel cylinder. It was as if the spreader had grown a 1/2 inch. Finally, I tore the brakes down to the backing plate so I could get to the E brake cable. I drove it out and tried pulling on it . Frozen tight. I went in to cool off and check Auto Zone's on line catalog. There was a driver's side rear in stock for 20$. I grabbed my wallet and was out the door. It is Chinese, of course, but it was an exact fit, and no knuckles were bashed during the install. The brakes went together without drama. With everything put together the shoes were tight at the top. The drum didnt need to be rocked on. and kicked into place. I'm tired but happy. I'm not too crazy about having to do so much brake work. But at least the parts are cheap and available 2 miles down the road. :D

Hey working Chinese part is better than broken American part.

Hope you kept the OEM bracket that ties all the cables together...the replacement ones can be pretty flimsy. I replaced my p brake cables a month ago or so and the cheap bracket folded like it had a bad poker hand. But don't fear! It happened just after I had thrown the original bracket out, so I got the opportunity to do some salvage yard shopping...

Yah, I did re-use the brackets. They are rusty but functional. I very carefully removed the old cable, got the new cable in, then gave it a squeeze for good luck. Em I see, kay eee wye. Em o you ess eee. :D
